TO THE GREATEST FANS IN THE NFL !! GO BRONCOS GO !!
Sep 27th, 2009 by admin

After almost four months of brainstorming, writing letters, sending e-mails, and many many phone calls we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it isn’t a train. Even though we have been unsuccessful so far with our attempts to have Mr. Bowlen attend one of our meetings and share some of his knowledge and insight of the inner workings of being an owner of the most popular sports franchise in the history of Denver. We have not given up on him being a guest. Maybe next year? Our August 27th meeting had to be postponed because of a last minute conflict of dates with our most popular alumni guest, Rod Smith. We are still working very hard trying to reschedule Rod at a later date. Letters have been sent to the Captains of the team asking them to attend some of our meetings and bring other players that may be willing to be our guests. Keep your fingers crossed that we will be successful. We had “Lou from Littleton” set for the October 8th meeting and then we just heard from Head Coach Josh McDaniels yesterday that he would be available on the 8th so we had to scramble to make accommodations for both guests. Neither of these two guests were able to come to Red & Jerry’s, so here is the only way these two meetings will take place. Read carefully as we are departing from previous dinner meeting agendas. Mr. Bowlen has been very gracious and has agreed with Head Coach Josh McDaniels who, because of his heavy workload with all the changes this year, has invited the Quarterback Club to the Denver Broncos Dove Valley facility for our October 8th Meeting. Head Coach Josh McDaniels will be recording his “Coach’s Show” for CBS Channel 4, to be aired on Saturday evening. Coach McDaniels will have a Q & A after recording the show. Please phrase your questions in a positive manner and don’t ask about the negative impact of the saga of the last six months. We are trying to build a good foundation with the new Head Coach and his coaching staff and players. Address is 13655 Broncos Parkway. Parking will be available west of headquarters and you will enter through the main entrance on Broncos Parkway. Food and beverages are not permitted inside but bottled water will be provided. There is no cost for our members for this meeting. RSVP by calling 303-948-2363 by 5:00 pm Monday October 5th. Call early as seating is limited in the Media room with only 120 seats available. When we reach 120 we will take no more reservations. You must be in your seat by 6:45 so plan accordingly. Late arrivals will not be seated after the recording session has begun. Keep your car warmed up because we will have our next meeting sooner than you expect. Our good friend and favorite talk show host “Lou from Littleton” has invited us to attend his show, “Bronco Talk” on October 29th. He will have a surprise guest and they will have Q & A during commercials and after the show. Lou is one of the most avid and knowledgeable supporters of the Denver Broncos. An evening with Lou and his guest can be one very enjoyable evening and have you leaving with a very positive attitude of the 09 season. This meeting will be at CB & Potts Restaurant, located at 6575 Greenwood Plaza Blvd (on Arapahoe Road), Englewood, CO. 80111. Plan to arrive by 6:30 or a little earlier for a drink and dinner from the menu. His show will start at 7:00 pm and like the meeting at Dove Valley there is no charge from the club, just your tab from the restaurant. RSVP at 303-948-2363 by Monday October 26 so they will know how many extra persons they can expect. You may want to get there early as seating may be limited here also. Website is up and running. Check it out at www.denverbroncosqbclub.com LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOU AT BOTH OF THESE MEETINGS GO BRONCOS! 18 – 0 IN 09 GO BRONCOS

Our Purposes
Jun 12th, 2008 by admin

The DBQBC’s main focus each year is to provide tickets for all Denver Broncos home games to children from disadvantaged situations throughout our area. The Club purchases season tickets and then distributes tickets on a game by game basis. This allows many children to experience the joy and excitement of Broncos football who would otherwise not get the opportunity.

2008 will be the fifth year that we will purchase a booth for the Team Fan Fare.

Our Glorious Past – A History of the Club
Jun 12th, 2008 by admin

The Year was 1960……Robert Howsam and a few friends decided to form a booster club to develop pro-football interest in the Denver Broncos…..there after to be known as the Denver Broncos Quarterback Club. Some of the early members were Ed Hirschfeld, ex-Denver Bear pitcher Mark Freeman and Charlie Goldberg. Since Charlie was one of the original members and was the longest continuous member of the Quarterback Club, he is now listed as the founder of the Club.

During the 1960’s, there were half a dozen small groups throughout the metropolitan area that supported the Broncos….the Aurora Bronco Quarterback Club, the South Denver Club and even a women’s group know as the Broncos’ Petticoat Club. Lou Saban was the force behind uniting all of these clubs. He wanted the clubs to combine so that the demands on the Broncos staff and players were focused into the support of one club. The combined club became the Denver Broncos Quarterback Club, Inc. (DBQBC). The club has been incorporated since 1964.

The Quarterback Club originally met for a weekly noon luncheon at the American Legion Post in downtown Denver. After this club was demolished, other locations were used including the Continental Denver Motor Lodge at Speer Blvd. and Zuni. During these years, Coach Ralston and Red Miller brought players and game films to the club meetings and utilized the club as the primary way to keep people informed about the Broncos. There was little media coverage of the team—very different than today!!

When Mile Stadium was completed in 1976, Charlie Goldberg opened the Mile-Hi Stadium Club under the north stands of the stadium. This was to become the new home of the Quarterback Club. Jim Saccomano, the Publicity Director of the Denver Broncos, arranged guest speakers from the team.

The Quarterback Club has a volunteer Board of Directors that governs the booster organization as well as a Club President that is selected every 2 years. The Clubs’ purpose is to distribute Home Game tickets to children from disadvantaged situations so that they may experience the joy of seeing the Broncos in action. It also serves as a place for fellow Broncomaniacs to share their enthusiasm and support of the team, to meet players and coaches and generally have a great time while doing some good in the community. Over the years, the objectives of the Club have been applauded and encouraged by the Broncos’ owner and management. We look forward to serving the team, our members and community for many more years to come!!

Thanks to Charlie Goldberg and Jim McNally and their book, Broncos! How Sweet It Is! for this brief history. For more great facts and stories, why don’t you check out this book for yourself
